What Ansley loves about Rio

Ansley loves swimming in the pool, going to the beach, and crafting. We took a trip to Ilha Grande when Chet's mom came to visit, and Ansley discovered that she could draw at the beach just as well as at home. She spends at least an hour in her bedroom everyday crafting and making things for other people. She is in heaven there with all her craft supplies, a crafting table, and lots of space.

What Sawyer loves about Rio

Sawyer loves the fact that we have two coconut palm trees in our yard. You can punch a hole through to the center and drink out the Agua de Coco (coconut water) with a straw. I think he really just gets excited about the "balls" that grow on the trees.

Our House

This is our house in Rio. We've been pretty happy here, but we have had to make some adjustments to the way we live. For instance, houses in Brazil don't have central air conditioning. The only air conditioners we have are in the bedrooms, and during the summer months they were a life saver. The rest of the house, however, felt like an oven. So, as you can imagine, the swimming pool has been used quite a bit. Weeks when it is very hot, you will find us in the pool most every day!

We have been living in Rio de Janeiro for about six months now and have done a poor job of keeping up with everyone back home! I'll try to keep this blog as up to date as possible, keeping in mind that a family with two small children only has so much free time. So, here goes....
